Close to thirty people showed up for our annual tomato tasting and a good time was had by all. Thank you to Jean Felton for allowing us to use her beautiful covered deck so that we tasted in comfort and style. This year's winners were:-
Cherry Tomatoes: 1st - Green Grape (Robbie Ridenour), Sungold (Karen Abbruscato)and Black Ethiopian (Barbara Stott) tied for 2nd place.
Paste Tomatoes: 1st - Costuluto Genovese (Debra Howell), 2nd - Super San Marzano (Bette Goosman) and 3rd - Speckled Roman (Molly Fisher)
Slicing Tomatoes: 1st - Aunt Ruby's Green German (Robbie Ridenour), 2nd - Chocolate Stripe (Molly Fisher) and 3rd - Chianti Rose (Molly Fisher)
Rosemary cookies with tomato jam (Amy Levin) and
Lavash pizza with arugula (Tina Higashi) tied for 1st place and
3rd - Tomato Cheese Torte (Patsy Neely)
